Creative Ideas for Service Awards

It's WOW Wednesday! HR leaders, execs, and managers: How do you WOW the people who go above and beyond for you in your business? Or, how have you been WOWed?

Today's WOW Wednesday idea comes from Yolanda. She says: "At Dolphin Stadium (home of the Miami Dolphins) we give a championship style ring for 20 year anniversaries. For retirement, we give an actual "used" stadium seat, plus a customized watch and a party."

#WOWWED: It's Wow Wednesday

It's WOW Wednesday! HR leaders, execs, and managers: How do you WOW the people who go above and beyond for you in your business? Or, how have you been WOWed?

Today's WOW Wednesday idea comes from Bonnie. She says: "To make the presentation exciting, we ask some trivia questions about the recipient. Employees who guess right recieve a small gift, such as pens or pencils with our logo on it."

#WOWWED: It's WOW Wednesday!

It's WOW Wednesday! HR leaders, execs, and managers: how do you Wow the people who go above and beyond for you in your business?

As an employee recognition provider, this one of the questions we ask and get asked regularly. Over the years, through webcasts, speaking engagements, the WOW Workplace book and conversations with clients, we have been lucky enough to talk with a lot of business leaders around North America and hear about fun, creative, and uplifting employee recognition ideas.

On "WOW! Wednesdays," we'll share some of these ideas for employee appreciation that we've heard and seen. Hopefully the stories will be an inspiration to others who are looking for meaningful ways to acknowledge outstanding people and contributions.

Today's WOW Wednesday idea came from Donna. She says: We have a program called Faces of Respect. An associate can be nominated as a "Face." When accepted, the associate's picture, name and department is posted with others throughout this multi-site organization and celebrated at a party and given a pin.

Do you have a WOW Wednesday tip of your own? Share it by leaving a comment or post on Twitter using hashtag #WOWWED. May we all work for WOW Workplaces!
