Terryberry Announces International Expansion
Global Demand for New Recognition Programs, Services Fuels Growth
(GRAND RAPIDS, MICH.) Nov. 17, 2010 - Terryberry, a 92-year-old provider of employee recognition programs and services, today announced its expansion into Europe through a partnership with JMPresentations (JMP) of London. JMP also specializes in employee reward and recognition programs.
“This expansion opens up a whole new market for us, which will undoubtedly enhance our capabilities internationally,” explained Mike Byam, fourth-generation managing partner of Terryberry. “It also allows us to better serve our global clients and their outstanding employees.”
The expansion is expected to increase Terryberry’s overall business by approximately 10 percent, particularly its online peer-to-peer recognition program, www.GiveAWow.com. Terryberry’s social media-style recognition programs have experienced 200-plus percent client growth in the past six months, a trend Terryberry’s leadership is confident will continue.
Byam said JMP offered an ideal cultural fit with Terryberry, as the companies share a mutual commitment to quality and exceptional customer service.
“We are thrilled to partner with a company like Terryberry, which truly is an industry leader,” said Craig Rebuck, JMP’s managing director.
Terryberry employs a team of 185 associates, with 25 sales offices throughout North America. The majority of its employees work at its world headquarters at 2033 Oak Industrial Dr. NE. in Grand Rapids, Mich. The expansion has initially added three local, full-time positions. Additional staff will be added as growth continues, Byam said.
Workplace employee recognition programs are not as well-established in Europe as in North America, providing an opportunity for Terryberry’s global growth.
Terryberry has been on a fast growth track in recent years. In 2008, Terryberry acquired the John Gray Awards of Cincinnati.
Terryberry is known for a variety of recognition products and services ranging from nursing pins for graduating nurses to championship rings for professional athletic teams to traditional service award programs for employee milestone achievements.
Founded by Herbert Terryberry in 1918, the company serves more than 25,000 clients throughout North America and Europe. For more information, please visit http://www.terryberry.com/.
